Reader: It Self-Destructed

Sep 20, 2025 | Disaster Draft, The Confluence

A quick accountability post for transparency.

So...my word count in July was 15K, and I was meant to be done by end of the summer. The (unlikely) reader of this post will note that the wordcount is now 8K, and it is mid-September.

NOT the height of success.

EXCEPT, I have learned a thing. A lot, actually. I had confidently set out to write a perfectly planned plot to outline and formula and nearly died of boredom.

I am resetting the board and beginning again, in late September, with full acceptance of the fact that I am a Pantser, and not a Planner. Unless my pants are on fire, my characters are running amok, and I have no clue what is going on, I do not feel like writing.

Lesson learned.

Embrace the chaos!
